Location
The town of Kuantan is on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, about 200km northeast from Kuala Lumpur.
Kuantan’s beaches provide the perfect getaway for both domestic and foreign travellers, with quiet coves and white sandy beaches. The city itself has a population of around 600,000 and retains a rural, small-town feel.
What does Kuantan boast?
Its beaches are idyllic. Cherating Beach and Balok Beach are the most popular and offer enough wind to get adventurous with surfing and sailing. Aside from urban attractions such as markets and malls, there are limestone caves, waterfalls, temples and river cruises.
Kuantan lives up to Malaysia’s reputation for great food with a cornucopia of street hawker snacks to sample. It is mostly visited by domestic travellers and Singaporeans on weekend getaways.
To get there from Kuala Lumpur, you can either fly (45 minutes) or drive (3 hours). The coastal roads are very scenic and worth the extra time.

The properties within the area of Samsuria Beach Residence are pre dominantly agricultural in character. Cultivating mainly coconut trees and fruit orchids.
The Mercu beach resort is located 300metres north of Samsuria Beach Residence, another resort is the Mermaid Inn just located 700metres to the south.
One of the fastest growing area in Pahang, it is also located near one of the busiest ports in Malaysia. The Kuantan Port is just located 2.5km away. Apart from that, the Gebeng Industrial Estate and Industrial Park is a mere 5.5km away. Malay villages can also be found within the vicinity as such, there are many shops selling food and basic supplies.
Other surrounding developments include the Swiss Garden Resort, Holiday Villa Cherating, Lis Na Ree Beach Resort, the legend hotel and sanctuary resort. These developments are within 5-8km radius from the property or about 10-15mins drive.
